In the beginning, I could only get a message that informed me that the site that I needed was being blocked. After emailing the administrator twice and with my homework due date looming nearer, I picked up the phone and called only to learn that the administrator is out of the office until next Tuesday. Hmmmmm....so I called on some other district resources and learned that I needed to work at Hardees to avoid the school district's blocking of all blogs. After that it all seems pretty painless!

Amy,
Very interesting. You never know what schools are filtering!
I don't get much time to do it, but I like detective novels. I like Robert Parker, Sara Paretsky, and Raymond Chandler, among others. Have we had this conversation before?
Jeff
I don't believe that we have had this conversation. I just finished S is for Silence by Sue Grafton. I also read Sara Paretsky and other similar mysteries. Have you read any of the Jan Burke books? They seem to be a little scarier than some of the others, but I get drawn right in. I tend to choose mystery books for my book clubs at school too, so I influence my students with my favorite genre!
I haven't read any Jan Burke. I am short on that kind of pleasure reading these days. I'm not much in the loop anymore. I really got interested in the genre because I took a mystery & the movies class at UIS back in its SSU days. It was taught by the Eversons and was a great class.
